ABOUT
Clay shooting lessons
At the SCSC we pride ourselves in having some of the best instructors in the business. We always want to make sure that everyone feels welcome and that you are never ‘just another customer’. Our instructors believe that every person is different when it comes to clay shooting so everyone needs a different approach. The only thing that doesn’t change is the quality of coaching.
We can provide everything you need from guns, cartridges and ear defenders to eye protection, shoulder protection and even an extra layer if you’re cold.
Age and clothing
We recommend 12 years old as a minimum age, but a lot depends on size, so do please contact us if you are unsure. Please always wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear.
We offer three main clay shooting experiences:
Number of targets: 15
Time: Roughly 30mins
Price: From £43.50
What the lesson involves: We take you through the dos and don’ts, the ever-important safety, gun selection, gun mount and how to hit moving targets in a safe and controlled environment. Once we’ve covered the basics we’ll get you shooting at 15 targets to let you get a feel for the sport.
Number of targets: 25/50 depending on lesson
Time: Around an hour
Price: From £62.50
What the lesson involves: Our standard lessons involve a more thorough approach for people who have shot before. One of our highly qualified instructors will help improve on your current shooting abilities by analysing your stance, body position and your aim (amongst other things) and suggesting new techniques to you. They can also introduce you to the different disciplines of clay pigeon shooting, such as Skeet, Sportrap, and general sporting traps.
Number of targets: As many as you want
Time: Around an hour
Price: From £65
What the lesson involves: Our advanced lessons are aimed at experienced shots who want to iron out a particular problem or improve their already good standard of shooting. The lesson consists of a one-to-one private coaching session from one of our highly qualified instructors. As they are highly tailored, our advanced lessons do not include a set number of cartridges or clays. These are an extra cost.
